I will be leaving for Changi Coast Adventure Centre a.k.a CCAC... Got OAL camp there... Hope i would survive... ANw we will be walking frm sch all the way there... cool? Roughly 7 hours... Sorry guys for this late post on Mt. Ophir.
Timeline of Adventure:
1st day
Met in school at 7am with 3 bags. My normal school bag, another Deuter bag and a reebok shoe bag... Carried with my school bad behind and the Deuter bag in front with the shoe bag hooked on the shoe bag with a caribiner. Not quite the way to climb a mountain with. Actually it was more of trekking. Boarded the bus and was on our way to Malaysia after filling up the white card in the bus. The total journey was close to 4 hours from Singapore to Gunung Ledang Resort which was the foot of Mount Ophir.
Anw upon eraching Malaysia, our first stop was like all other trips to Malaysia, Yong Peng. The houseflies-flooded place. The first place that most of us went was the mini supermarket. Bought a whole box of bubble gum and a tube of bubble yum... No spelling error, it was called Bubble Yum. Oh... Also saw many RI students when we reached there... Then saw my Pri 6 classmate Yoda there... Said he was on this Prefect Getaway thingy in Malaysia. Wad a place to meet an old frend. Then i bought a Ramly Chicken burger there... Damm nice...
On the trip from Yong Peng to Gunung Ledang, many of us slept in the bus including myself... Went over to talk to WX and a few others after my sleep. Was sitting beside SLJB who was awake. then after a while i turn and look at him... This was wad i saw.
Handsome right... Then Alvin was blowing this bubble gum.
Damm big lah... But at Ophir itself, LS blowed a bigger one but i did not have time to take a photo.
Anw reached Gunung Ledang Resort at roughly 11+ and saw lots of NCC cadets there... It turned out that they were NCC Air and Sea cadets from other schools that have just finished scaling Ophir. After our lunch at the Resort, we had a bloody funny briefing by Mr Imran, a guide from the resort... He seemed to be the most experienced one.... His briefing was damm funny cos of the way he expresses... Sometimes he dunno how to say something in English, then he would use Malay... Also, he said that we might not reach the summit of Ophir if there is bad weather... If got lighting, then we were on top.(he was drawing the mountain and a stickman figure on a whiteboard) Boom, then we kenna(then he drew this arrow that showed that the stick figure flew down from the summit.) Then he said at the camp side a.k.s base camp, there was this Survival Toilet and everyone was laughing... He said that when reach there, we would noe... During the briefing, this Part A cadet called YS was catching houseflies that were flying around using the glass drinking cups... He caught like 3... Damm zai... I killed 2... haha=)
After the briefing, we handed our valuables and we took our rations that included cup noodles, a can of 100 plus and many more including a gas canister.. We oso took out wad we did not want to bring up... Lastly, we were given this check list to write how much things we bring up... Like how many plastic wrapped food... We weretold to throw our garbage into our indivivual white garbage bag. then when we come down, they would check... if 1 item regarless the size or weight was not there, there would be a charge of 10 RM...
The climb started... and from the resort to Check Point 1a.k.a CP 1 was all steps... a total of 526 if i am not wrong... There was a total of 3 rangers following us...We saw the water fall... Super cool...

When we reach CP 1, everyone was sweating like mad... There were some Malaysians playing in the water too... At CP 3, there was this ultra big leech on Kun Liang's bag that was luckily left on the floor. If that frigging leech bit any one, that guy moight have fainted from the loss of blood... The leech was soon get rid off... Then it started to drizzle... But due to the forest coverage above, not much rain came true until the rain beacme heavy for a while...Some of the ppl wore their poncho while others wore their cap... 1 of the rangers wore a garbage bag as a poncho... Damm funny... he cut a hole thru the top and pop his head thru... Reaching our base camp, i switched bags with SLJB cos he said he was damm exhausted carrying Zheng Feng's bag.( everyone aws helping each other carrying stuff) ZF bag weighed a ton and your centre of gravity is super off, causing u to be ultra off balanced especially for a small sized kid like me... I was leaning forward by damm lot lor from the weight of the bag... Then we had to jump across from a rock to another route in front... The bag caused much difficulty when walking on the slippery rock... But cleard the jump anyhow... Then walked around 15 metres when i heard SLJB shouting damm loud... SLJB: CLEMENT!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Me: What?! SLJB: I AM STUCK!!!!!!!!!!! Hearing this, i totally freaked out thinking bout wad can happen to SLJB... i lookat Alvin who was in front of me and dropped ZF's bag... then i sprinted damm fast back to the rapids... I then saw SLJB in front of the rapids with me the puzzled look, then saying: Clement, which way to go ah? I was like freaking pissed... I tot he was like stuck in the rapid or smth like that... Just say u lost lah... @#$%^&!#$%^!!! Was in the same tent with YC, LS & WC... The other ppl from other tents moved their tents and we soon settled down at roughly 5... The trek from the resort to base camp was actually not tiring like gym training where u think ur muscles are gg to tear... But its like u feel like u are just shag... In fact, for me, my leg muscles were not even tired... u can tell me go climb staircase now also can lor... haha =) But i too xian to do that cos the whole journey was just keep going up... My shoulder muscles were the one aching from my bag load... During the trek, Bryan was damm helpful, he helped ZF carry his ultre heavy bag and oso a few others with thier stuff... Annw our tent was wet and sandy... there was this sock and 2 light sticks inside the tent too which i cleared while laying ground sheets in the tent... After throwing our bags into the tent and taking a towel, we chiong to the river for our shower... Everyone tell me go first.. then i go in lor... The water was i swear at leat 15 degree celcius, but i tell everyone that it was alright... then everyone went in with the legs touching the water firt and they were like @#%^&@#$%^&*!!! to me... haha=) there were alot of fishes in the river and many were scared of leeches... but no one kenna... some of us including myself took off our shirt and jump into the water, bearing the cold... At home, i take cold water to shower and very very rarely take a hot shower... Dont believe, ask my familly... Me and alastair oso swam in the river... haha =) After shower, we changed our clothes and ate cup noodles for dinner... Helped Sir Ng and Mdm Chow cook their meals too... Actually not only them, half the ppl used our stove cos we were the first tent to light up the stove with the help of the ranger... And i was the cook for every meal... haha=) Had a briefing by the rangers and Sir, then we had free and easy at around 6 plus... But oso cannot go any where... haha=) The sky at that time still got light and there was super heavy fog.. then the forest like LOTR like that... damm cool...Was still raining and Wore my jacket and played Taiti in the tent... Had 1 or 2 games, and we all like no mood play... then talk cock with my tent ppl until damm late... While playing, at roughly 7.15 the place around suddenly damm dark... As in really dark... No light... Whole night cannot really sleep... Roughly less than 2 hours of sleep... YC was like me... But WC and LS were sleeping like pigs... Speaking bout pigs, i suan YC that night... I was like asking him a random question," YC, why u look like pig?"(it was in chi)then his nickname became pig .
Took this cos i could not sleep... YC covering his face cos he said he looked better this way... Thats is LS's leg in the middle if u see carefully...
2nd Day
The next morning, woke up at 5 plus and started the fire on the stove to warm myself cos it was damm cold... Had cup noodles for breakfast then ppl packed my bag to the summit... Filled with food ration of the tent members... Went to see Survival toilet and took a picture of it...

Beautiful memories View from inside Had to bear with the "aroma" to get this pic... Trek to the summit... From CP 4 which was base camp to CP 5 was mostly trekking and i was thinking that Ophir was getting boring... Then KFC came... Everyone was thinking wad it was all bout and we found out that it meant Killers for Climbers.... There were ladders and ropes and rock surfaces to clear... Much more fun as all 4 limbs were used... At one of the CP, i notice the left sock of ZF was reddish brown and immediately said he was bleeding... those who noe him, u should his attitude... he was like smiling retardely and saying it was red soil... I had a memory run-back but didnt remember that there was anywhere that had red soil... This soon spread and i guessed it was a leech bite... I told Sir and he told ZF to take off his shoes and socks... But ZF smiled and said dont ned lah... then he said he scratched himself... Then he took out in the end... It was really a leech bite... Sir applied medication and we carried on... blah blah blah...i spending too much time explaining the details... Near CP 8, we had to clear this rock surface that was roughly 20 meteres high using ropes tied to the top... So u had to kinda grap the rope and walk up... there were 3 ropes and i was the 1st guy right behind the ranger... Oh, and during the trek to the summit, being the 1st guy brhind the ranger, i had to tell the ranger to slow down many timescos he was walking super fast... Despite climbing ropes and ladders and walking on root terrain, he was like walking on flat ground... Took quite a bit of effort to follow right behind him... As i was climbing the rock surface, i looked back down the mountain and saw the view... It was beautiful and breath-taking... Once in a while, clouds drift past...

Kenneth Chan fell while climbing too but of course not down the mountain... I had to stay at the rope area to motivate ppl and entangle the rope... So i was the last person to leave the place...Some ppl like YC nad LS had a phobia of heights and when they look down, they were like super worried...During the trek, Lots of ppl oso had leg cramps, luckily not me...phew!! After like 30 mins of trekking and climbing from the rock surface, we reached the SUMMIT!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The view would be perfect if not the clouds blocking... We were too high, maybe? haha=) Highest point i have been on 2 legs and not in a vehicle... 1276m cleared!!!! No one had difficulty breathing or altitude sickness... had a group photo up there too... i had a piece of bread a and a few sipdsof 100 plus for lunch... should be tea lor... Everyone had no water too... Going down from the summitwas definitely more difficult than gg up as we had to go slowly in case we slip and fall which was extremely easy... Went back to base camp, bathe, ate dinner and played Taiti... Taught YC how to play and played for quite a while before gg to sleep... Changed our sleeping positions and was able to sleep... But woke up every 3 hours to check the time...
3rd Day
Next morning, ate half a cup noodles for breakfast and a little bit of chocolate... No more rations left... then pack up, kept our tent and cleared the area of litter and set off to the resort... at CP 1, another tanger appeared at the hut to check our garbage bag from the check list thingy... Dint really check thoroughly and only a few items were checked... Nobody failed... Some of ys borrowed items that they wanted to check from others too... haha=) Reached base camp or so called civilisation =) Took our valuables and bathe and bought drinks ... Lots of ppl including myself oso bought the Ophir t shirt... then had lunch and our certs given to us... Then loaded the bus to Malacca... Saw a helipad at the carpark too... Damm cool... On our way to Malacca, everyone slept after Sgt Wilson and Jacky sang songs... Sgt Wilson was a damm good singer and he looks like Pan Wei Bo... Then during the trip, i tot lost my wallet cos it was not with me... I cant rem whether i had put it in my bag at the bus storage place... Stopped at this street called Jonker Street if i am not wrong when we reached Malacca and had Free and easy for 1 hour... Immediately checked my bag at storage palce and found it...Phew!!! Bought a shirt from this shop called The Orang Utan shop... the shirt the design all hand drawn by a famous Malaysian chinese artist called Charles Cham... Maybe he is a pop artist... The shirt i bought...
Will wear it to the chalet... i noe it looks damm crappy... haha=) cost me 30 RM Was shopping with my tent members and PSG... The we had dessert at this store that had nobody other than the 2 waiters and 1 waitress... We bought 2 desserts which was not bad... The concept of the store was not bad... If this kind of cafe were to open in Singapore, and we modify the taste of the dessert, $ would come rolling... Everyone else were eating either Chendol, Famosa Chicken Rice BALLS or some other stuff... It was a race against time as they served the dessert damm late and we had like 10 mins to finish the 2 of them which was super big... Roughly 3 mins left, help came... We saw our several of the others outisde the shop and looking at the clothes being sold... I ran out and told them to help us eat... haha=) it was like 20 ppl over 2 desserts... In the end, the desset was also not finished... but left a little... After that, went backto bus and sight see another place... then went to hotel... the joke from the tour guide can be seen on WX's blog... Nvm lah, i say... The tour guide was saying where our hotel was... then he pointed to Hotel Equitorial and said," Do u see the Hotel Equitorial on ur left?" Then i was thinking that how can that be our hotel as i heard Sir telling 1 of the Staff then our hotel was 3 stars... Hotel Equitorial was like 30 storeys with a swimming pool... How can it be 3 stars? But i dont care, and everyone was like thinking how cool our hotel is... Then he continued," Our hotel is behind it..." Then everyone was like "CHEY!!!!!!!", and started laughing... Our hotel was called Malacca Starits Hotel and was 4 or 5 storeys high... After settling our rooms and getting our keys, we went inside and we werelike WOAH... cos it was not like what we expected... Wooden beds that had cotton coming out... It was like fully furnished with 2 beds and 2 matress... And TV... with coffee table... Totally like a 5 star hotel lor... Maybe it was 3 stars cos service not compared to 5 stars... Almost every staff in a 5 star hotel could speak English... The had dinner at hotel restaurant and Sir brought us to this supermart to buy stuff... i bought this bottle of chewing gum and cup noodles along with 2 cans of Milo... Reached back to hotel and started playing Taiti...Played like for 2 hours then went to sleep... Super cool... Woke up at 4 to go toilet... I was so heaty that the eye wax stuck my right eye to prevent it from opening... then managed to open it in the end... During the stay in this hotel, ML was sleeping naked... No joke, i saw it with my own eyes... I was delivering Joshua his cup noodles... I rang his doorbell damm lot of time then he he came out looking sleepy as he was sleeping... then he said the ML was naked ... i said i dont believe but then he let me into the room to see a blanket-covered partially awake ML... Saw his pants and underwear near his bed and i slowly lifted the side of the blacnket at the end of his legs... The room was dark and when i saw this black mass, i quickly shouted "U Xiao Ah?!!!" and ran out... Lunckily dint see the whole thing... See no Evil
4th day
the next day, had breakfast at hotel restaurant... then packed stuff and loaded the bus to go to Makota Parade... which was the biggest shopping centre in Malacca... Didnt buy anything but played bowling with a few others cos of the damm cheap price... 5RM for wad? u guess...
2RM to buy socks cos we were wearing slippers or sandals other than SLJB... 2RM for each game... Dint have much time 1 RM for rental of shoes...
5RM altogether... Damm cheap... Sing dollars roughly $2.50... In some parts of Singapore, this is the price of 1 game lor...
the had lunch at this Pernerakan place and went back to Singapore... Was the only guy who smuggles so many Gum with me... The bottle of chewing gum had 40 tablets in it... I had planned to peel off the sticker and write Vitamin C tablets on the bottle... But put the bottle and the tube of Bubble Yum in different parts of my jacket... Reached sch at around 5... And ate Macs for dinner before heading home with everyone looking at me... Cos i was carrying 1 bag front annd 1 bag behind together with a shoebag haging... and all 3 bags were like stuffed to the brim... haha =) Took out all my dirty clothes and throw them in the washing machine... then blah blah,... and slept...
Mount Ophir was with no doubt tiring and tough ... But oso unargulably fun... And a sense of achievement when u reach the summit...Especially together with ur frends...
Took roughly 2 hours to write this post... Longest post ever...

Now 1, 2 3.... HUUU HUUUU HUUUUUUUU!!!!!!!!!!!!
kk... went to sch ytd and to place our bags in the school... the bags we are bringing to Mt. Ophir, which is a mountain in Malaysia and is said to be the most climded mountain in Malaysia.. While waiting for our seniors, me, YC, WX and Ls together with a few others started playing with WX ball... basketball i mean;) Out of boredom, i flung the ball and it slowly rolled and bounced down to this place.. I followed the ball and it landed into a swimming pool, a mini one but deep enough to be one... haha :) This is a very rare encounter that only will happen when there is a super heavy rain at our school like ytd...
